Mentors play a significant role in shaping us as individuals. From taking our first steps in the industry to life-changing career decisions, they stay with us like a steady pillar of strength. We always encourage great mentoring stories and intend to nurture this beautiful mentor-mentee relationship in all aspects. One such endeavor is celebrating January as a Mentoring month.
Inaugurated in 2002 in the U.S to promote youth mentoring, the month remained confined to the US with very little hype in other countries, especially India. In a land of 1.3 billion plus, the role of mentors has been overlooked since long. Since we believe that Mentors play an important role in the life of an individual, we took this opportunity to reach out to those all Mentors and thank them for their contribution. If you haven’t said words of gratitude to your Mentor, do it now. You can never repay them for their support, guidance and constant encouragement but the least you can do is say a simple “Thank you” to them. Remember, “Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” – Henry Ward Beecher.
Samuel Smiles said that “Alexander the Great valued learning so highly, that he used to say he was more indebted to Aristotle for giving him knowledge than to his father Philip for life.” Mentoring month celebrates those Mentors and recognize their endless support.
Mentoring month is all about giving a shout-out to your Mentors, making them feel special and honoring their involvement in your life. Drop a message to them on social media channels, write a letter or simply dedicate a post to them. It will make a huge difference, to them and of course you. In this fast-paced digital world, if you aren’t connected with your Mentors online, this is the chance to visit them personally. Personal touch makes relationships stronger, warmer and more beautiful.
Teachers, siblings, seniors, parents, anyone who has ever stepped into the shoes of a Mentor are worthy of your time and gratitude.
As we celebrate #MentoringMonth, we wish you more strength, positivity and wisdom.
